The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg is a classic cautionary tale from the Ancient Greek storyteller, Aesop. When a countryman and his wife discover that their Goose has the magical ability to lay golden eggs, they begin to wonder how much treasure might be stashed away inside this extraordinary bird. Their curiosity leads to tragedy, however, as the poor Goose meets its untimely end at the hand of the countryman's knife...and, of course, there is no gold to be found!
