A sequel to Beatrix Potter’s beloved 1907 book, The Tale of Tom Kitten, The Tale of Samuel Whiskers plots the fortunes of a long-suffering cat, Tabitha Twitchit, who becomes distressed when her son Tom vanishes into thin air inside the family’s large country house.

Terrified that Tom has been captured by the wily rats that scurry under the floorboards and between the walls, Tabitha seeks help from her brave cousin Ribby who leads the search for her son. Ribby himself becomes alarmed, however, by the sinister roly-poly sounds coming from under the attic floor. It seems the enormous old rat, Samuel Whiskers, and his wife Anna Maria, are attempting to turn poor Tom into a pudding!
