“There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they’ll take you.”
Beatrix Potter is one of the most beloved children's writers of the modern era, and her hugely popular books have been capturing the imagination of readers of all ages since the early-1900s.
A writer, illustrator, natural scientist and conservationist; she has created some of classic literature’s most memorable characters. Taking inspiration from the landscape and wildlife of the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands, she is best known for her twenty-three children’s tales, including The Tale of Peter Rabbit, The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, and The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin.
So many of the sculptures, water features, and miniatures from the Robert James Workshop collection are inspired by the English writer’s hand-drawn illustrations and rich, enduring stories—and the everlasting charm of her work can be found in the handmade bronze creations you find here today.

What our customers have to say
During a visit to the Hampton Court Flower Show a few years ago I finally got to see some of the exquisite creations of the Robert James Workshop. I stood amazed at the vision of the Queen of Hearts towering amongst the greenery and was instantly transported into my favourite book Alice in Wonderland.
Upon returning home I could not stop thinking about how beautiful the craftsmanship was. There was no way I could fit a large piece of this kind into my garden however much I would have loved to so imagine my delight in finding out that there were Miniature sculpture versions. I not only treated myself to the Queen but also to the Mad Hatter and The Mad March Hare. I find something different in each of them every time I look at them.
Wonderful quality, craftsmanship and customer service. I know I will be buying from them again as I have my eye on the very cheeky Cheshire Cat.
