Robert Ellis

Co-founder, sculptor

Co-founder and sculptor, Robert is drawn to the rewarding challenge of bringing illustration into three dimensions. His work is full of close observation, natural movement and fine detail, skills honed by decades of making.

James Coplestone

Sculptor, Creative Director

Co-founder, sculptor and Creative Director, James helps shape the heart of the collection, choosing characters, developing ideas and modelling in clay. With a gift for character and expression, he brings warmth, humour and feeling to each piece, drawing on a lifelong love of stories, theatre and the natural world.

Karen Watkins

Director

With a focus on horticulture and customer care, Karen helps clients picture each sculpture in its setting, with an instinct for gardens, planting, atmosphere and placement.

Louis Coplestone

Junior Manager

Working across sculpture, advertising and studio support, Louis represents the next generation of Robert James Workshop. Combining visual storytelling with hands-on creativity, Louis brings fresh energy to the collection, exhibitions and the wider brand.
