Discover how literary classics inspire our sculptures
Sketches, line, and form
We work from original sources wherever possible, handling books and archive material to understand dimensions, pose and personality. Initial sketches map the stance; wire armatures follow to hold the form. Clay brings weight, fabric, fur and feather. At this stage, we judge likeness and scale in the round, refining until the figure feels right.
A journey through the making process
The path a sculpture takes from studio bench to garden
A character's arrival in your garden is the final step of a meticulous process. From the first mark in clay to the final foundry finish, we manage every transition to ensure the spirit of the original illustration remains intact.
Inspired by stories and authors
Choosing themes and characters with care
Our range grows from the worlds that shaped our childhoods and continue to speak to new generations. The works of Lewis Carroll, Beatrix Potter, A. A. Milne and Kenneth Grahame translate beautifully into sculpture. We look for moments that carry feeling in a garden setting – a scurrying, rushing White Rabbit, Ratty and Mole in their riverboat, whiling away the afternoon, Christopher Robin mid-stride, on another adventure with his beloved bear.
Installation and aftercare
Keep your bronze looking its best
Placement of your sculpture is crucial. We advise on slate bases, plinths, and fixings for security; on sightlines from windows and paths; and on water and power where a feature is involved. For a deeper dive on materials and maintenance, read.

Write your own chapter
Our sculptures are designed to be lived with. To weather the frost, to gather moss, and to become part of the family. We invite you to find the character that speaks to your story.
