The pieces have a solid, weighty feel and range in size between 5 cm and 9 cm. All the characters are mounted on circular bases (with the exception of the Queen of Hearts) and felted to protect the polished hardwood board.

In Through the Looking-Glass, Lewis Carroll turns the logic of chess into something far stranger, sending Alice across a board of talking pieces, impossible rules and royal encounters. Our Alice in Wonderland Pewter Chess Set takes inspiration from that curious setting, bringing together beloved Wonderland characters in solid, weighty pewter. Each piece is mounted, felted and presented on a polished hardwood board to create a wonderfully unusual set for play, display and conversation.
